Sharyland JV White Volleyball

Of course we cover teams other than varsity - just ask.  Recently posted are 86 photos of the Sharyland JV White volleyball team in action.  Take a look.

Basketball - Edinburg Vela @ Sharyland

The Sharyland Lady Rattlers and the Vela Lady Sabercats took the challenge to the court on Tuesday night to determine Playoff seedings in District 30-5A. A close game that was decided until the very end with plenty of excitement.  The Sharyland Lady Rattlers defended their home turf and beat the Vela Lady Sabercats by a free throw in the last second of the game.

In the second game, the Sharyland Rattlers and the Vela Sabercats were running hot on emotions. Things got a bit emotional, but eventually cooler heads prevailed. The Rattlers took control of the game early and beat the Sabercats convincingly.

Basketball - Edinburg HS @ Sharyland HS

The first game of the doubleheader had the Edinburg Lady Bobcats facing the Sharyland Lady Rattlers. It was a close game but the Edinburg Lady Bobcats got hot and took the victory over the Sharyland Lady Rattlers.

In the second game, the Sharyland Rattlers hosted the Edinburg Bobcats. The Rattlers took the lead early but the Bobcats kept the game within range. When the night was over, the Sharyland Rattlers walked away with the victory over the Edinburg Bobcats.

Sharyland v Edinburg North Football

Sharyland's Sean Landez (#21) celebrates in the end zone with team mates J. C. Valadez (#11) and Marco Avila (#3) after scoring a touchdown on the opening kickoff. The Rattlers delivered a thumping 48-7 win over Edinburg North and assured themselves at least a share of the District 30-5A title.

Sharyland Freshman Football

Its fun watching the stars of the future - you wonder what 9th grader will be setting records in a couple of years.  We had a chance to get some good shots of both the Sharyland freshman teams - both the White and the Red teams in their games against Edinburg North.

Sharyland v Palmview Football

Cesar Valdez had a decent enough evening - he only scored four touchdowns as he led the undefeated Rattlers to a 55-3 win over District 30-5A rival Palmview.  Sharyland's defense limited the Lobos to only 103 yards for the night.  We have lots of photos for both teams, plus some band and cheer for Sharyland.  (Sorry, Palmview fans - the band was on its way to the next level of UIL competition and was not at the game.)

Sharyland v Edinburg Volleyball

The Lady Rattlers of Sharyland needed a hard-fought five games to do it, but they left the Edinburg North Saturday afternoon with the District 30-5A title in hand.

Sharyland v Donna Football

Oh yeah - the first half lived up to the hype as neither team had to punt, but the Rattler defense came on strong during the second half as a record crowd watched a Sharyland 48-28 win over a good Donna team.  We'll have photos available as fast as as our two photographers can process and upload them.

Football - Donna HS at Shayland HS

The top two teams in the Rio Grande Valley faced-off on Friday night at Rattler Stadium. The Donna Redskins paid a visit to the Sharyland Rattlers. Both teams came in with undefeated records, and more than likely the District 30-5A championship on the line. Both teams did not disappoint. The Sharyland Rattlers started things first by scoring on every possession they had, and the Donna Redskins followed along by scoring on every possession in the first half as well. Things remained tight in the third quarter until the Sharyland Rattlers opened things up in the fourth and defeated the Donna Redskins 48-28.

Sharyland v Edinburg Football

It was not the sort of game Edinburg wanted for homecoming.  The Bobcats hosted Sharyland, but the visitors showed no mercy with a 58-7 win.  We have photos of both the Rattlers and Edinburg, so take a look.

Fall is the time for a lot of sports - especially football - and a lot of other sports get no coverage.  We tried to rectify that a little today by shooting some photos of the Sharyland tennis team.  Take a look.

Rattlers Band & Cheer

Sorry it took so long folks - but all the Sharyland Band & Cheer photos taken last Friday night are uploaded and ready for purchase.   If you haven't seen a half-time show at Rattler Stadium, that's too bad, because its quite a show!

Sharyland v Juarez-Licoln Football

It was a tough night for the Huskies.  They are new to 5-A football and they were in the house of one of the Valley's dominant teams.  Yes, Sharyland came away with an easy 56-7 win, but Juarez-Lincoln also showed it has a couple of good running backs.  Mistakes and fumbles did them in - the game was better than the score.  We have photos to prove it.

Caitano Neto hauled in this long pass from Tres Barrera for one of the Rattler scores.

Sharyland Freshman Football

Thursday night football, freshman style.  These are the stars of the future.  We've often wondered where Sharyland keeps finding those quick and fast running backs - and we saw more of them Thursday night on the freshman team.  We have about 200 photos from Thursday's game with Juarez-Lincoln.  Take a look.

Wild One at Cat Stadium

Oh my - this was a nail biter - one of those games where it is too bad somebody had to lose. The Sharyland Rattlers paid a visit to the Jaguars of Edinburg Economedes and took home the 55-48 slugfest only after a touchdown in the last 17 seconds.  The game had everything - long runs for scores, a blocked field goal attempt. interceptions and plenty of long bombs.

Lots of photo for both teams - give us a day to process them all and get them on the site.  Oh yeah - we have band shots too!
